Case Study: Microsoft – Holiday Party
Scenario: Microsoft staff is planning a holiday party. Because of the ethnic backgrounds and the employees’ diversity, the holiday party cannot focus on Christmas traditions. The planning committee is struggling with having a holiday party without offending multicultural employees and creating a festive atmosphere.
Goal: Locate holiday entertainment that transcends ethnic lines for a multicultural office and is suitable for an international audience.
Conclusion: Microsoft’s planning committee selected Dale Obrochta for his creativity and ability to adapt to each child’s requirements. Dale focused on the season, i.e., penguins, snowmen, and polar bears, to bridge the gap between religious and traditional characters associated with the holiday season. This allowed the party atmosphere to maintain a balance between holiday and festivity, which meets the corporate headquarters’ requirements.
